Do you go on a natural cleansing diet or take colon cleanse products?

ofcourse, natural cleansing diet !!!
ofcourse, natural cleansing diet !!!
True?? I am already walking 1hr x 5 days a wk & following a healthy diet, but was curious about all this colon cleansing & quick or jump starting things. If so what is a safe way & safe length of time to do it?
colon cleanse - yes
laxatives - no
the colon cleanse be it either the kits or fruits or home enemna or professional colon hydrotherapist cleanse would work great on the colon preparing you for your diet.
Hi i am thinking of getting it done, while the thought of it does make me cringe i think it would be good for my health. I have irritable bowels and thought that this along with a more controlled diet may help ease some of my problems, what are your experiences?
I would like to know how often it is recommended, prices and if you feel instantly better and less bloated, also how long does it take for you to be able to go to the toilet again afterwards?
If there is anyone who knows where to go in north london/ middlesex that would also be great!
SENSIBLE ANSWERS PLEASE.
My Mum swears by colonic has been doing them 4 times a year for about 10 years now. She pays 50 quid a time. I remember when she first started she had to have 4 in a row each week. This is so that things really get loosened up at the sides and washed off so that you are properly clean inside. Not everyone needs this. An experienced person performing the colonic massages your tummy and can feel if there is anything left that should come out. They also know from looking at the water. Apparently some people are spring cleaned from the first time, others need more. My Mum needed 4 in a row but some people need more the first time. Before hand my Mum was advised to do warm compresses on her lower tummy of castor oil, apparently this helps any debris on the sides of the intestines come away easier. She also has a very light diet the couple of days before. After the colonic she is given probiotics from both ends to rebalance the intestinal flora. My Mums intestines have extra twists and bends in them compared to how the intestines should normally lie. She sufferred terrible pains for years, had terrible IBS, after the investigative procedure in hospital they said it was just the way she was made and nothing really they could do. Colonic has given her such relief. I remember when I was a kid she would be doubled up in pain. She is fine now, the colonic practitioner is one of these holistic people etc. and did some tests on Mum and food, she has to avoid, gluten and wheat. My Mum is in her 60’s, I am in my 40’s and she wants me to have colonic, I don’t have any digestive problems so I haven’t yet, but I do like the idea of being clean on the inside.
You need to be very careful who you go to. If the water pressure is wrong or they massage you too roughly it can rupture your intestines. There is also a school of thought that says it unbalances the intestinal flora, but my opinion is not more than eating too much acid food and drinking too much. Also a good practitioner deals with this after the colonic by giving you good probiotics to take.
Hope you get some answers from people who have actually done the procedure, hope this answer helps in the mean time.
colonix? i just bought 3 months worth of this stuff and now im having second thoughts? does it really work? for those who have tried it was it worth it and did you like it?
I’ve never tried Colonix, but it has better reviews then any other cleansing program. I used Perfect Cleanse and it worked great.
It is however, important that you understand the point of a cleanse. You will remove excess waste and toxins from your body. Even though you will probably lose weight, it is not fat. Mostly when you’re done you will feel healthier, and cleaner.
Also, any cleansing program is essential that you eat right, which means no processed foods, and little or no caffeine and alcohol. It is also recommended that you take probiotics to replace the bacteria in your digestive system with good bacteria.
Hope that helps!
I am going to start the Lemon Detox Diet next week and I was wondering if there is anyone who has tried it and if so were you allowed to exercise? I’m not too sure as the diet does not involve eating any solid foods and I am worried I will have no energy.
Thanks so much
It’s called The master cleanse, it’s not a plan that you should be doing. It’s very dangerous. That being said, if you do choose to do it, take it easy and don’t exercise, you will run out of energy quickly.
I don’t have insurance, but I want me cololn cleansed. So I want to know the pros & cons of the tablet and procedure.
I did some googling and found that just about anyone who recommends colon cleansing stands to gain by selling some type of product. Here’s what mayoclinic.com had to say:
http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/colon-cleansing/AN00065
Here’s another link that isn’t trying to sell you something:

hi all - wanted to get some feedback on some colon cleanse products. i want to do a cleanse but i would hate to just throw money away on a product that doesn’t really do the job.
anyone tried one in particular or know of one that’s is worth trying ?
thanks
Don’t waste your money.
Im just about to start it. Any info or pointers? It would be great to here your experiences!
Here's some advice: Don't do it.
The body naturally detoxes all the time. That's why we drink water and eat fiber. This whole new craze is going to be around another year and it will disappear once people stop buying the product. Remember how 'In the News' Adkins was? That's the same thing. It's simply a way to get your money away from you with promises of making you feel better.
Some problems with the Detox Diet
1. You're not eating food. You need to eat food to help your body continually function at it's highest level. If you stop eating food, you can't repair your muscles, your organs aren't as highly functional, and you feel like crap.
2. It HURTS. Being hungry is painful and irritating. If you fast for religion, that's okay, but doing it to 'cleanse' yourself is something else. When I was 5 years old, I learned to NOT touch the stove because it hurt. Pain means something is not working for your body. If you hurt because you haven't eaten in a day or two, you need to change things.
3. Do you really want to slow down your metabolism? Your body will go off-kilter if you stop eating. And what is this with lemons and cayanne? They picked two arbitrary items to eat and ran with it. It sounds like Scientologists flying in DC-10s or whatever.
People say they do feel good after a detox, but that's because they're finally drinking enough water. With all the sodas, juices, coffees, and beers out there, you're dehydrated. That's the only thing that's wrong with you.
If you simply add more water to your daily intake and you avoid fast food and fried food and too much candy, you'll feel 100 times better. Trust me.
And if there is any side affects, does it really make you feel better and give you clearer skin and healthier hair? i am not so much interested in the weight loss side of it but whether it actually cleanses the body.
Your body is self-cleansing, you don't need to go on some whacky diet to do that. In fact, the vast majority of them are NOT healthy for the body, which needs fibre etc to ensure that the bowels etc keep moving to self-cleanse!
I just started College a month ago and also started the birth control pill about that time and have put on a couple of pounds. Nothing to worry about but I don’t want those 2 pounds to turn into 20. I’ve heard negative and positive things about detox diets. I’m just curious what your opinion is on it.
Detox diets are quackery, plain and simple. Not only is there no scientific evidence that detox diets work, there’s no scientific evidence that the problem they’re supposed to solve is real.
